Angus Council has received a Community Asset Transfer request and because of this will be considering changing the use of property held as part of the Brechin Common Good. Before taking a decision it requires to consult under Section 104 of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015.
A community asset transfer request has been made by IMPS (Inch Maintenance and Preservation Society) and relates to the land known currently as the former Brechin Leisure Centre (site 359982) Brechin
The request is for a lease of the former Brechin Leisure Centre, Inch Park, River Street, Brechin, Angus, DD9 7HQ
The proposal is to provide a community resource hub for the people of Brechin particularly those living in East Brechin. The applicant believes the hub will serve to meet the needs of all the community – from young to old and be truly intergenerational, creating a vibrant, welcoming and inspiring focal point for residents and others.
The likely timescales proposed for the application include submission to Angus Council Policy and Resources Committee by 18th September 2019.
