(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2021

 

The Scottish Borders Council (Burnfoot, Hawick) (Temporary Closing) Order 2021 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 09:00 on 10 May 2021 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 17 October 2021 - 24 hour closures, as detailed below. The Order is required for a gas main replacement.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the undernoted streets in Burnfoot, Hawick, as follows:

(a)   Phase 1: Hillend Drive at its junction with Charles Street, from 09:00 on 10 May to 17:00 on 6 June 2021. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Hillend Drive to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

(b)   Phase 2: Galalaw Road at its junction with Hillend Drive, from 09:00 on 19 May to 17:00 on 13 June 2021. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Hillend Drive, Scott Crescent and Galalaw Road to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

(c)   Phase 3: Hillend Drive at its junction with Fraser Avenue, from 09:00 on 7 June to 17:00 on 18 July 2021. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Hillend Drive to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

(d)   Phase 5: Kenilworth Avenue from Fraser Avenue to Eildon Road, from 09:00 on 5 July to 17:00 on 22 August 2021. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Fraser Avenue, Hillend Drive, Galalaw Road and Eildon Road to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing;

(e)   Phase 10: from 09:00 on 6 September to 17:00 on 17 October 2021:

       (i)    Fairhurst Drive at its junction with Burnfoot Road. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Fairhurst Drive and Burnfoot Road to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and

       (ii)   Burns Road at its junction with Burnfoot Road. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Burnfoot Road, Burnhead Road, Eildon Road, Cavers View and Burns Road to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
