A198 MAIN STREET, LONGNIDDRY – MAIN STREET IMPROVEMENT WORKS - East Lothian Archived

It is the Council’s intention to upgrade the A198 Main Street, Longniddry. This work will consist of the construction of new footways, new pedestrian crossing points, carriageway / footway resurfacing and drainage works. Works will commence on Monday 14^th March 2022 and be completed by Friday July 1^st 2022, weather permitting.

The works will be undertaken in three phases:

• Phase 1 –Longniddry train station car park to Kitchener Crescent (West junction)

• Phase 2 – Links Road to junction with B6363 (Including under Lorne Bridge)

• Phase 3 – Kitchener Crescent (West junction) to Links Road

In order to comply with current Health & Safety legislation, it will be necessary to install a traffic and pedestrian management system during the work. No parking will be permitted on each affected section. Cones and signs with dates will be placed accordingly.

Works under Lorne Bridge will be carried out under a road closure. A diversion route will be coned and signed accordingly. B6363 Lorne Bridge will be closed from the junction with the A198 to Morrison Lane from Monday 20th June to Friday 1st July 2022. Access to Cruden Homes building site (Longniddry Village) will be maintained from A1 (Gladsmuir). Please see attached TTRO for your information and proposed diversion route.

Refuse and recycling collections will be collected as normal, however please ensure your bins/boxes are out for 7am on collection days.

Local businesses will be open as usual.
