On 12/11/19 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 62 of the Roads (Scotland) Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, which will make it unlawful between the hours of 00:01 and 23:00 for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on King St from The Cross to St. Marnock St, Portland St from West George St to The Cross and The Cross in its entirety (except emergency vehicles and vehicles authorised by East Ayrshire Council and/or Police Scotland), for the reason of maintaining public safety and convenience during the holding of a special Christmas lights event at The Cross.
The Order will be in force from 00:01 hrs until 23:00 hrs on 24/11/19, or until the special event has come to an end whichever is earlier and will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
