South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council, A726 Glasgow Road, Strathaven Temporary Road Closure No.1 2024” and shall come into operation between 12 May 2024 between 9.30am to 6pm. The restrictions will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Whilst this order remains in force no person shall park, drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the sections of road specified in Schedule 1 by reason of Scottish Water manhole cover repair unless associated with the works and emergency vehicles.
Schedule 1 – Temporary Road Closure
Glasgow Road, Strathaven will be closed between Brook Street and Woodhill Road.
Alternative Route
Via A723 to Hamilton, A72/A724 to Burnbank, High Blantyre Road, Main Street, A725 East Kilbride Expressway/Kingsway, A726 to Strathaven and vice versa.
