On 6 January 2021 South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, to cause or permit any vehicle to drive at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on the lengths of roads detailed below:-
Barn Street, Strathaven, both directions – from a point 44 metres south-east of the extended south-east kerbline of Commercial Road, south-eastwards to its junction with Green Street, a distance of 50 metres or thereby.
Bridge Street, Strathaven, both directions – from the north-east kerbline of Common Green, north-eastwards for a distance of 7 metres or thereby.
Common Green, Strathaven, both directions – full length, a distance of 121 metres or thereby.
Green Street, Strathaven, both directions – from the extended south-west kerbline of Common Green, northeastwards to its junction with Barn Street, a distance of 155 metres or thereby.
Lethame Road, Strathaven, both directions – from a point 37 metres south-east of the extended south-east kerbline of Crawford Street, south-eastwards to its junction withTownhead Street, a distance of 67 metres or thereby.
Townhead Street, Strathaven, both directions – from a point 44 metres north-east of the extended north-east kerbline of Thomson Street, north-eastwards to its junction with Green Street, a distance of 63 metres or thereby.
Waterside Street, Strathaven, both directions – from the extended south-east kerbline for Green Street, south-eastwards for a distance of 7 metres or thereby.
Wellbrae, Strathaven, both directions – from the extended south-west kerbline of Common Green, south-westwards and south-eastwards to a point 27 metres north-west of the extended north-west kerbline of Kirk Street, a distance of 30 metres or thereby.
This Order has been made because of the likelihood of danger to the public, i.e. for reasons of road safety.
The Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 3 February 2021 and will remain in operation until 2400 hours on 3 August 2022.
