South Lanarkshire Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
This Order may be cited as “South Lanarkshire Council, Various Roads, Strathaven, Temporary Road Closure Order No 1 2018” and shall come into operation between 0001 hours Monday 14 May 2018 to 2359 hours Thursday 7 June 2018; 0001 hours Monday 11 June 2018 to 2359 hours Thursday 14 June 2018; and 0001 hours Monday 18 June 2018 to 2359 hours Wednesday 15 August 2018. The restrictions will be applied on site by the display of traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002.
Whilst this order remains in force no person shall park, drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the sections of road specified in Schedule 1 by reason of Scottish Power apparatus installation.
Schedule 1 – Loudon Street, Strathaven 14 May 2018 to 29 May 2018
Loudon Street will be closed between A723 Commercial Road and The Ward
Alternative Route
Traffic will be diverted via A723 Commercial Road, A723 Barn Street, Waterside Street and The Ward and vice versa.
Schedule 2 – A723 Hamilton Road, Strathaven 30 May 2018 to 7 June 2018; 11 June 2018 to 14 June 2018; and 18 June 2018 to 8 July 2018
A723 Hamilton Road will be closed between Aspen Place and A723 Commercial Road. Only small sections of A723 Hamilton Road will be closed at any one time – this will be signed appropriately.
Alternative Route
Traffic will be diverted via A723 to Hamilton, A72/A724 to Burnbank, High Blantyre Road, Main Street, A725 East Kilbride Expressway/Kingsway, A726 to Strathaven, A723 Commercial Road and vice versa. Local diversions will also be signed on site.
Schedule 3 – A723 Commercial Road, Strathaven 9 July 2018 to 15 August 2018
A723 Commercial Road will be closed between A723 Hamilton Road and Loudon Street. Only small sections of A723 Commercial Road will be closed at any one time– this will be signed appropriately.
Alternative Route
Traffic will be diverted via A723 to Hamilton, A72/A724 to Burnbank, High Blantyre Road, Main Street, A725 East Kilbride Expressway/Kingsway, A726 to Strathaven, A723 Commercial Road and vice versa. Local diversions will also be signed on site.
