On 6 January 2021 South Lanarkshire Council made the above named Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which makes it unlawful for any person, except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform, to cause or permit any vehicle to drive at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on the lengths of roads detailed below:-

Broomhill Court, Larkhall, both directions – full length, a distance of 75 metres or thereby.

Broomhill Road, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended south-west kerbline of Church Street, southwestwards for a distance of 88 metres or thereby.

Church Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended north-west kerbline of McNeil Street, southeastwards to a point 49 metres south-east of the extended south-east kerbline of Wellbrae, a distance of 328 metres or thereby.

Crossgates Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended north-west kerbline of Raploch Street, northwestwards for a distance of 67 metres or thereby.

Gallowhill, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended south-west kerbline of Church Street, southwestwards for a distance of 95 metres or thereby.

John Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended north-east kerbline of Church Street, eastwards for a distance of 50 metres or thereby.

King Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended south-west kerbline of Union Street, southwestwards for a distance of 52 metres or thereby.

London Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended north-west kerbline of Raploch Street, northwestwards for a distance of 117 metres or thereby.

McNeil Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended south-west kerbline of Church Street, southwestwards for a distance of 61 metres or thereby.

Machan Avenue, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended south-east kerbline of Muir Street, southeastwards for a distance of 20 metres or thereby.

Machan Road, Larkhall, both directions – from a point 49 metres south-east of the extended south-east kerbline of Wellbrae, south eastwards to a point 62 metres south-east of the extended south-east kerbline of Orchard Gate, a distance of 119 metres or thereby.

Montgomery Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended north-east kerbline of Union Street, northeastwards for a distance of 100 metres or thereby.

Muir Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended north-east kerbline of Union Street, northeastwards for a distance of 54 metres or thereby.

Orchard Gate, Larkhall, both directions – full length, a distance of 120 metres or thereby.

Raploch Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended south-west kerbline of Union Street, southwestwards for a distance of 60 metres or thereby.

Union Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended north-west kerbline of Raploch Street, southeastwards to the extended north-west kerbline of McNeil Street, a distance of 468 metres or thereby.

Wellbrae, Larkhall, both directions – full length, a distance of 70 metres or thereby.

Wellgate Street, Larkhall, both directions – from the extended north-east kerbline of Union Street, northeastwards for a distance of 97 metres or thereby.

This Order has been made because of the likelihood of danger to the public, i.e. for reasons of road safety.

The Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on 3 February 2021 and will remain in operation until 2400 hours on 3 August 2022.
