(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) NO 2 ORDER 2024

The Scottish Borders Council (Various Roads – Galashiels Community Campus) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) No 2 Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 06:00 on 15 April 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 29 April 2024 as detailed below. The Order is required for a new power cable to supply the new Galashiels Community Campus.

When the Order comes into effect, in Galashiels:

  1. Phase 2:
  1. no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Bank Street from Bank Street Brae to Overhaugh Street from 08:00 on 15 April to 18:00 on 29 April 2024;. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Bank Street Brae, Livingstone Place, Scott Street, Gala Park, Hall Street, Island Street, Bridge Place, Bridge Street and Sime Place to rejoin High Street;
  2. from 06:00 on 15 April to 18:00 on 29 April 2024, no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along the following streets:

Bank Street – from Number 10 to Number 14; and

both sides of Bank Street Brae from Gala Park to Bank Street;

  1. a One Way Order in a south westerly direction will be in force on Bank Street Brae from Bank Street to Gala Park from 06:00 on 15 April to 18:00 on 29 April 2024. No person shall drive in a north westerly direction.
  1. Phase 3: No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Overhaugh Street at its junction with High Street from 08:00 on 27 April to 18:00 on 29 April 2024. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via Bank Close, Bank Street, Bank Street Brae, Livingstone Place, Scott Street, Gala Park, Hall Street, Island Street, Bridge Place, Bridge Street and Sime Place to rejoin High Street; and

The Scottish Borders Council (The Borders Regional Council) (Various Streets, Galashiels) (Regulation of Traffic) Order 1990 (as amended) will be further amended as follows: the One Way Order on Overhaugh Street at its junction with High Street shall be revoked from 08:00 on 27 April to 18:00 on 29 April 2024.
