(ABBOTSEAT AREA, KELSO)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION AND REVOCATION) NO 2 ORDER 2024
The Scottish Borders Council (Abbotseat Area, Kelso) (Temporary Traffic Regulation and Revocation) No 2 Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 30 January 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 21 May 2024 as detailed below. The Order is required for SGN gas main renewal works.
When the Order comes into effect, in Kelso:
- no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the following roads in the Abbotseat area;
- Closure 1: Abbotseat from Number 2 to Prior’s Court from 30 January to 20 February 2024 between the hours of 08:30 and 16:15 on weekdays only. The alternative route for clockwise traffic is via Abbotseat to the point of closure, for anti-clockwise traffic the reverse of the foregoing;
- Closure 2: Prior’s Court from Abbotseat to Number 35 from 08:00 on 31 January to 18:00 on 27 February 2024 – 24 hour closure. The alternative route for clockwise traffic is via Abbotseat and Halliden Road to the point of closure, for anti-clockwise traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and
- no person shall walk, cycle or wheel along the footpath between Prior’s Court and Masons Court leading to Golf Course Road from 08:00 on 24 April to 17:00 on 21 May 2024. The alternative clockwise pedestrian route is via Golf Course Road, Abbotseat and Prior’s Court to the point of closure, the alternative anti-clockwise pedestrian route is the reverse of the foregoing.
The Scottish Borders Council (Abbotseat Area, Kelso) (Temporary Traffic Regulation and Revocation) Order 2024 dated 8 January 2024 is hereby revoked in respect of Closure 1 of that Order.
