(A701 GALA BURN BRIDGE, TWEEDSMUIR)

(TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) ORDER 2024

The Scottish Borders Council (A701 Gala Burn Bridge, Tweedsmuir) (Temporary 30mph Speed Restriction) Order 2024 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 08:00 on 15 January 2024 and is expected to remain in effect until 17:00 on 7 April 2024 – 24 hour restriction. The Order is required to ensure a safe driving and working environment while bridge repair works are carried out.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle at a speed exceeding 30mph along the A701 at Gala Burn, Tweedsmuir from a point 250 metres south of Gala Burn Bridge to a point 250 metres north of the same bridge.
