THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(ENDURO WORLD SERIES - INNERLEITHEN)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2021

The Scottish Borders Council are making the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, with the consent of Scottish Ministers under Section 16B(1)(b) and Section 16B(6)(b) of the said Act. The Order, which has a maximum duration of seven days, will come into force at 09:00 on 28 September 2021 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:00 on 4 October 2021. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Enduro World Series mountain bike event.

When the Order comes into effect in Innerleithen and the surrounding area:

1. a 20mph speed limit will be in force from 09:00 on 28 September 2021 to 18:00 on 4 October 2021 on the B709 Traquair Road from the existing 20mph signs southwards to its junction with the B7062;

2. no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked from 09:00 on 28 September 2021 to 18:00 on 4 October 2021 on the following roads:

1. Traquair Road from the A72 southwards to Tweed Bridge; and

2. Leithen Road from the golf club entrance southwards to the A72.

These no waiting restrictions will come into effect only when appropriate traffic signs are displayed on the affected lengths of road;

3. no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D83/1 between the B709 and the D80/1 at Walkerburn from 09:00 on 29 September 2021 to 18:00 on 3 October 2021. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is northeast on the B709, east on the A72 and south on the D80/1 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic, the reverse of the foregoing; and

4. a 20mph speed limit will be in force from 09:00 on 1 October 2021 to 16:00 on 3 October 2021 on the B709 Leithen Road from the existing 20mph signs northwards to a point 20 metres north of the entrance to the golf club.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.
