(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2021

The Scottish Borders Council (Howegate, Hawick) (Temporary Closing) Order 2021 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 18 September 2021 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00. The Order is required for BT works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Howegate, Hawick at its junction with Tower Knowe.

The alternative routes are as follows:

From the north: via Sandbed, Buccleuch Street, Buccleuch Place and Beaconsfield Terrace to the point of closure.

From the south: via Tower Knowe, Tower Dykeside, Slitrig Crescent and Kirk Wynd to the point of closure.
