(FOOTBRIDGE – ABBOTSVIEW DRIVE TO BOLESIDE ROAD, GALASHIELS)

(TEMPORARY CLOSING) ORDER 2021

The Scottish Borders Council (Footbridge - Abbotsview Drive to Boleside Road, Galashiels) (Temporary Closing) Order 2021 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 00:01 on 30 August 2021 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of six month – 24 hour closure. The Order is required for safety reasons due to the deteriorating condition of the bridge.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall walk or cycle on the footbridge from Abbotsview Drive to Boleside Road, Galashiels.

The alternative south-eastbound pedestrian route is via Abbotsview Drive, Kingsknowes Drive, the A7, D24/2 Netherbarns Road and Boleside Road to the point of closure, for north-westbound pedestrians, the reverse of the foregoing.
