(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2021

 

The Scottish Borders Council (Balmoral Avenue & Forest Avenue, Galashiels) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2021 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 6 June 2021 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of one day between the hours of 09:30 and 18:00. The Order is required for Scottish Water manhole repairs.

When the Order comes into effect:

(a)   no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Balmoral Avenue, Galashiels from number 38 to number 40. The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via Balmoral Avenue, Forest Avenue, Meigle Street and Balmoral Avenue to the point of closure, for westbound traffic via Balmoral Avenue, Meigle Street, Forest Avenue, Forest Crescent, Balmoral Terrace and Balmoral Avenue to the point of closure;

(b)   permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on:

       (i)    Balmoral Avenue, Galashiels, from number 38 to number 40; and

       (ii)   Forest Avenue, Galashiels, from Forest Gardens to Forest Crescent; and

(c)   The Scottish Borders Council (The Borders Regional Council) (Various Streets, Galashiels) (Regulation of Traffic) Order 1990 (as amended) will be further amended as follows: the One Way Order on Forest Avenue, Galashiels, from Forest Gardens to Forest Crescent, will be revoked for the duration of this Order.
