(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2020

The Scottish Borders Council (The Crofts and Crofts Road, Ayton) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2020 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 17 February 2020 and is expected to remain in effect until 4 March 2020 on weekdays only, during the hours detailed below. The restrictions will not be in force over the weekends of 22 and 23 February, and 29 February and 1 March 2020. The Order is required for preparation and resurfacing works.

When the Order comes into effect no person shall:

  1. permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked in The Crofts, Ayton between the hours of 08:00 and 17:00 on weekdays only from Monday 17 February to Wednesday 4 March 2020;
  2. drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along Crofts Road, Ayton, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00 on weekdays only, as follows:
  1. Closure 1: from High Street northwards for 55 metres - from Monday 17 February to Friday 21 February 2020 and from Monday 24 February to Wednesday 26 February 2020. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via High Street, Tower Road and The Crofts to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing; and
  2. Closure 2: from Thursday 27 February to Friday 28 February 2020 and from Monday 2 March to Wednesday 4 March 2020. There is no alternative route.
