ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

 

THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

 (OXNAM ROAD, JEDBURGH) (PART TIME 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 20XX

 

 

The Scottish Borders Council propose to make the above Order in exercise of the powers conferred on them under Section 84(1) the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to said Act. The Order will come into operation on ………. 20XX.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce a part time 20mph speed limit along a length of Oxnam Road, Jedburgh.

Full details of this proposal are in the draft Order which, together with a map showing said length of road, and a Statement of the Council’s Reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined at Engineering Design, Environment and Infrastructure, Scottish Borders Council, Newtown St. Boswells, Melrose, from Monday to Thursday between 8.45am and 5.00pm and on Friday between 8.45am and 3.45pm, and also at the Library Contact Centre, Castlegate, Jedburgh during normal opening hours between the period 5 December 2019 to 13 January 2020. Any person wishing to obtain technical advice on the provisions of the Order should telephone Engineering Design, Environment and Infrastructure on 01835 825250.

Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should send details of the grounds of objection in writing to the Service Director Assets and Infrastructure, Scottish Borders Council, Council Headquarters, Newtown St Boswells, Melrose, TD6 0SA by 13 January 2020.
