(EASTGATE AND INNERLEITHEN ROAD, PEEBLES)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019
The Scottish Borders Council (Eastgate and Innerleithen Road, Peebles) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 21 October 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 25 October 2019, as detailed below. The Order is required for resurfacing works.
When the Order comes into effect, in Eastgate and Innerleithen Road, Peebles:
(a) no person shall walk or cycle along the footway on the south side of Eastgate and Innerleithen Road from Whitestone Park to the Park Hotel between the hours of 07:00 and16:00 each day. The alternative eastbound pedestrian and cycle route is via Tweed Brae, Walkershaugh, Whitestone Park and Innerleithen Road to the point of closure, westbound the reverse of the above;
(b) no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on the north side of Innerleithen Road from Venlaw View to the A703/A72 roundabout between the hours of 07:00 and 16:00 each day;
(c) the existing taxi rank on Innerleithen Road will be suspended from 21 October to 25 October 2019; and
(d) the existing taxi rank on Eastgate will be extended by 20 metres in a westerly direction from 21 October to 25 October 2019.
