(PATON STREET, GALASHIELS)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

The Scottish Borders Council (Paton Street, Galashiels) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 21 October 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 8 November 2019 between the hours of 08:00 and 15:30 on weekdays only. The restrictions will be suspended over the weekends of 26 and 27 October and 2 and 3 November 2019. The Order is required for footway and carriageway patching works.

When the Order comes into effect:

(a)   a One Way Order in an easterly direction will be in force on Paton Street, Galashiels from Market Street to its junction with the entrance to the Tesco Supermarket. No person shall drive in a westerly direction. The alternative route for westbound traffic is via  Paton Street, George Craig Bridge, Currie Road, Ladhope Vale, Stirling Place, Stirling Street and Market Place to the point of closure; and

(b)   no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked on the south side of Paton Street, Galashiels.
