(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2019

 

The Scottish Borders Council (D14/3 Hornshole, Hawick) (Temporary Traffic Regulation) Order 2019 has been made under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 14 October 2019 and is expected to remain in effect until 17 November 2019 as detailed below. The Order is required for embankment works and bridge repairs.

When the Order comes into effect:

(a)   a 20mph speed limit will be in force on the D14/3 from Hornshole Cross to Briery Lodge from 14 October 2019 to 17 November 2019;

(b)   a 3T MGW weight restriction will be in force on the D14/3 from Hornshole Cross to Briery Lodge from 14 October 2019 to 17 November 2019; and

(c)   no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the D14/3 at Hornshole from 21 October 2019 to 1 November 2019 between the hours of 08:00 and 15:30 each day. The road will be open over the weekend of 26 and 27 October 2019.

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the D14/3, D13/3, Burnfoot Road, the A7, Mart Street and the A698 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.

Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained with minor delays.
