THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(PEEBLES HIGHLAND GAMES)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2018

 

The Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and with the consent of Scottish Ministers under Section 16B(6)(b) of the said Act. The Order, which has a maximum duration of one day, will come into force at 09:00 on 1 September 2018 and is expected to remain in effect until 18:30. The Order is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Peebles Highland Games 2018.

When the Order comes into effect:

  1. no person shall (i) drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle, and (ii) permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked, along those lengths of road at the times specified in the Schedule below; and
  2. the Scottish Borders Council (Various Streets, Peebles) (Regulation of Traffic) Order 2000, as amended, will be further amended as follows: the One Way Orders on Port Brae and Tweed Green will be suspended between the hours of 10:30 and 11:30 and between the hours of 16:45 and 18:00.

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Road Closures

These closures will come into effect only at such times as instructed by a police officer in uniform

From 10:30 to 11:30 – Chieftain Parade

High Street, Cuddy Bridge, Old Town

From 16:45 to 18:00 – Pipe Band Parade

Neidpath Road – from Haylodge Park to Old Town, Old Town, Cuddy Bridge, High Street, Eastgate
