(A698 ECKFORD TO KALEMOUTH)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2018
The Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 23 July 2018 and is expected to remain in effect for a period of three days between the hours of 08:30 and 16:00 each day. The Order is required for patching works.
When the Order comes into effect:
- no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the A698 from the C50 Eckford junction, to its junction with the B6401 on 23 and 24 July 2018;
- a temporary speed restriction of 30mph will be in force along the A698 from its junction with the B6401 northwards for approximately 1.3km on 25 July 2018. The alternative route for northbound traffic is via the A698, A68, A699 and A698 to the point of closure, for southbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing. Service buses and cyclists will be escorted through the works, with minor delays.
