THE SCOTTISH BORDERS COUNCIL

(A698 KNOWESOUTH)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2018

 

The Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.  The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force at 09:00 on 12 February 2018 and is expected to remain in effect until 16:30 on 27 February 2018. The Order is required for resurfacing works.

When the Order comes into effect:

(a)   a 30mph temporary speed limit will be in force from 09:00 on 12 February 2018 until 16:30 on 27 February 2018 on the A698 at Knowesouth from a point 20 metres west of its junction with the D58/3 westwards for approximately 1200 metres; and

(b)   no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle along the A698 at Knowesouth, from a point 120 metres west of its junction with the D58/3 westwards for approximately 1000 metres from 19 to 23 February 2018 and from 26 to 27 February 2018 between the hours of 09:00 and 16:30 each day

The alternative route for eastbound traffic is via the A698, Mart Street in Hawick, the A7, A699, A68 and A698 to the point of closure, for westbound traffic the reverse of the foregoing.
