On 1 November 2021 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on construction of pedestrian crossing) on South Muirhead Road, Cumbernauld from A8011 Town Centre East Roundabout to the junction of St Mungo’s Road at the roundabout by reason of works being executed on or near that location. 

Alternative routes: Vehicles up to 15'9" (4.8m) will be diverted via A8011 Central Way, Town Centre West Roundabout, St.Mungo's Road and South Muirhead Road 

Vehicles over 15'9" (4.8m) follow diversion to escort point and call for assistance. 

Vehicular and pedestrian access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.  

The Order will come into operation at 0600 hours on Thursday, 11 November 2021 and will remain in operation until 1800 hours on Sunday, 28 November 2021.
