On 9 July 2018 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on water main upgrade works) on Avenuehead Road, Moodiesburn from A80 Cumbernauld Road to Drumcavel Road by reason of works being executed on or near that location.
Alternative routes: vehicles 15’9” (4.8 metres) or less will be diverted via Drumcavel Road, A752 Drumcavel, A752 Station Road, A752 Cumbernauld Road and A80 Cumbernauld Road.
Vehicles greater than 15’9” (4.8 metres) will be diverted via Drumcavel Road, Glenboig Road, B804 Johnston Road, A752 Lochend Road, B806 Gartloch Road, B765 Stepps Road, Avenue End Road and A80 Cumbernauld Road.
Vehicular access will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.
The Order, which will only be in operation when effective signage is in place, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Monday, 23 July 2018 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Sunday, 5 August 2018.
