MORAY COUNCIL (VARIOUS STREETS – ELGIN CENTRE (SPACES FOR PEOPLE) TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND PROHIBITION OF WAITING) ORDER 2020

 

The Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as Amended) to close the roads specified in the schedule below from Monday 6th July 2020 until Sunday 25th October 2020. The temporary road closures have been imposed to reallocate road space to maintain social distancing and provide additional locations for business to operate as Covid 19 restrictions are eased.

 

This order temporarily revokes Schedule 2, 4 and 5 of the THE MORAY COUNCIL (ELGIN TOWN CENTRE – PEDESTRIANISATION AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) Order 2010 and Schedule 21 of THE MORAY COUNCIL (ELGIN TOWN CENTRE – WAITING RESTRICTIONS) Order 2010 for the roads specified in the schedules.

 

The existing taxi stances on High Street (East and West End) will be relocated in accordance with Section 19 of the Civil Government (Scotland) Act 1982

SCHEDULE

 

 

Road Closure (11:00 to 16:00 Monday to Sunday)

Elgin High Street – From High Street to Glover Street (including Plainstones)

Batchen Street – From High Street to South Street

Lossie Wynd – From High Street to North Port

Commerce Street – From High Street to South Street

 

Road Closure (11:00 to 14:30 Monday to Sunday)

South Street – From Culbard Street to Greyfriars Street

Academy Street – From South Street to Francis Place

 

 

 

No Stopping at Anytime except for Taxis

South Street (North Side) – From the projected eastern kerbline of Batchen Lane (north-south section) for a distance of 18 metres or thereby easterly direction.

High Street (North Side) – From a point 6m or thereby east of the projected eastern kerbline of Glover Street for a distance of 41m or thereby in an easterly direction
