THE MORAY COUNCIL (SECTION OF EDGAR ROAD, ELGIN) PART-TIME 20MPH SPEED LIMIT ORDER 2018

The Moray Council has made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended.

The general effect of the Order which will come into operation on 15/02/19 will be to prohibit any person from driving or causing or permitting to be driven any vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph during the school term, when the flashing lights on the signs indicative of the speed limit are activated, on that length of Edgar Road, Elgin as described in the Schedule to the Order.

The Order is being introduced in the interests of road safety, to reduce traffic speeds on that section of Edgar Road adjacent to Greenwards Primary School. introduction of a Part Time 20mph Speed Limit, which will be supported by flashing signs, will also enhance safety in the vicinity of the new Toucan Crossing. Order is as specified in the Northern Scot on 16/11/18.

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Act or that any of the relevant requirements arising from the Act are not being complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of 04/01/19 apply to the Court of Session for this purpose.
