Dalkeith Remembrance Day Parade - Midlothian Archived

Midlothian Council have made the above Order under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, will come into force on Sunday 11^th November 2019 between 10.45am and 11.30am and have an effect only as long as it takes the procession to pass through each junction and when the participants have passed through each one along the route, normal traffic movement will be resumed. The restriction is required to facilitate the holding of a relevant event, being the Dalkeith Remembrance Day parade.

 

When the Order comes into effect the restriction will be enforced as the procession moves along the following roads:

 

1. Buccleuch Street from RBLS Dalkeith Branch to Buccleuch Street/High Street/Old Edinburgh Road/Eskbank Road junction

    

The road is being restricted for road safety reasons.

The road restrictions will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs or under the instruction of a police officer in uniform.

Emergency vehicles attending an emergency call are exempt from this order.

During the event, local access will be retained for residents along the affected routes.

No alternative route signing will be provided during these road restrictions.

MIDLOTHIAN COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE UNDER SECTION 14(2) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984, AS AMENDED, THAT FOR THE REASON SET OUT IN SECTION 14(1)A OF THAT ACT AND TO ALLOW FOR THE DALKEITH REMEMBRANCE DAY PARADE ESKBANK ROAD BETWEEN BUCCLEUCH STREET AND MORRISONS SUPERMARKET CAR PARK ACCESS WILL BE CLOSED TO TRAFFIC ON SUNDAY 11 NOVEMBER 2018 BETWEEN 10:45AM AND 11:30AM

 

THE ROAD IS BEING RESTRICTED FOR THE REASONS OF ROAD SAFETY AND TO MINIMISE BACKGROUND NOISE DURING THE REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY. THE ROAD RESTRICTION WILL BE INDICATED BY APPROPRIATE TRAFFIC SIGNS OR UNDER THE INSTRUCTION OF A POLICE OFFICE IN UNIFORM.

 

EMERGENCY VEHICLES ATTENDING AN EMERGENCY CALL ARE EXEMPT FROM THIS ORDER

 

NO ALTERNATIVE ROUTE SIGNING WILL BE PROVIDED DURING THIS TEMPORARY RESTRICTION.

 

THE NO LEFT TURN AND RIGHT TURN TRAFFIC ORDERS AT HIGH STREET / BUCCLEUCH STREET JUNCTION ARE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DURING THE ROAD CLOSURE.

 

PEDESTRIAN ACCESS SHALL BE MAINTAINED.

 

THIS NOTICE HAS A MAXIMUM DURATION OF 1 DAY.
