(7.5 Tonnes Maximum Gross Weight Restriction)
Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2021

On the 1 April 2021 the Council made the above named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers, which prohibits all vehicles in excess of 7.5 tonnes maximum gross weight for any purpose and at all times, except for those vehicles servicing farm properties or fields which are only accessible from within the section of roads specified below, in the interests of road safety for all road users and to prevent serious damage to the road verges.

The Order will commence at on 12 April 2021 and will remain in effect for a maximum period of up to 18 months.

The weight restriction applies to the following sections of the road:
•    Sergeantlaw Road, Neilston: From its junction with Greenfieldmuir Road Neilston to its southwestern junction with the B775 Gleniffer Road, a distance of approximately 3,000 metres (1.9 miles) or thereby.

•    Shilford Road, Neilston: From its junction with the B775 Gleniffer Road to its junction with Fereneze Road, Neilston, a distance of approximately 2,160 metres (1.3 miles) or thereby.

Alternative Routes:
•    Sergeantlaw Road: Greenfieldmuir Road – Fereneze Road – A736 Lochlibo Road – B776 Roebank Road – B775 Gleniffer Road and vice-versa. 

•    Shilford Road: B775 Gleniffer Road – Stanley Road – Park Road – Calside Road – B774 Neilston Road – B774 Caplethill Road – B774 Paisley Road – Cross Arthurlie Street – Kelburn Street – A736 Lochlibo Road – Fereneze Road – and vice-versa.
