The East Renfrewshire Council (A77 Ayr Road) (Temporary 30mph Speed Limit) Order 2021
On the 11 December 2020 the Council made the above named Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991 and of all other enabling powers, in the interests of safety due to substantial changes made to the road layout with the introduction of segregated cycle lanes on sections of the A77 Ayr Road.
The Order authorises a reduction of the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph to be applied between a point 90m or thereby west of the western kerbline of Malletsheugh Road and a point 60 metres or thereby south of the inscribed circle of Eastwood Toll roundabout, where the current 40mph speed limit commences/terminates, a distance of 4,880 metres or thereby.
The Order will commence at 00:01 on 5 January 2021 and will remain in effect for a maximum period of up to 18 months as permitted by legislation.
