Temporary Road Restriction – Springfield Rd & Springhill Rd Barrhead

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order has been promoted to restrict vehicular access to sections of Springfield Road and Springhill Road, Barrhead to facilitate the safe operation of carriageway realignment and upgrading works scheduled to be carried out on these roads and to ensure the safety of the workers and the general public whilst the works are being carried out

The Sections of roads affected are:
Springfield Road, Barrhead between its junctions with Kirktonfield Crescent, Neilston and Balgraystone Road Barrhead.
Springhill Road, Barrhead between its junction with Glanderston Road and a point approximately 50 metres north of its junction with Springfield Road.

The works are programmed to be carried out in two phases:
Phase A - Springhill Road, 5 Ways Junction & Springfield Road (west of 5 Ways Junction), anticipated to commence on Monday 11 January 2021 and will be in operation for 12 weeks, until Monday 5 April 2021.
Phase B - Springfield Road (east of 5 Ways Junction), anticipated to commence on Monday 5 April 2021 and will be in operation for 16 weeks, until Monday 26 July 2021.

Access for emergency vehicles attending an incident will be permitted at all times. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times. Vehicular access to premises within the extents of the restriction may be permitted when it is possible and safe to do so and only when expressly permitted by the contractor on site.
