B6363 Penston - Road Closure - East Lothian Archived

It is the Council’s intention to undertake carriageway resurfacing works on the above road from Monday 16^th May to Thursday 3^rd June 2022 between the hours of 08.00 and 16.00, weekdays only.

To comply with current Health & Safety Legislation, it will be necessary to close the road to vehicular traffic during the construction times stated above.

• Vehicular access or egress for residents will be maintained where practicable (accessing from the Macmerry Industrial Estate end of the scheme)
• Emergency service vehicles will have access as normal.
• Refuse collection as normal.
• Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
• No on road parking will be available.

The road will be closed from the roundabout at the A199 to the sharp bend at Penston cottages. A short diversion route will be in place which follows the A199 and U119 Penston Road.

Please note that before the final surface layer is laid, the existing surface will be sprayed with a black bituminous emulsion which becomes very sticky. Please be aware (and make other family members aware) that this material should be avoided as it will readily stick to soles of footwear, bicycle tyres, pet’s paws, etc. and is very difficult to remove.
