On 11/01/22 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, which will make it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on C23 Rigg Road, Cumnock, from the road end to Dixton eastwards to the road end to Lochgrove House, and C23 Peesweep Brae, Lugar, from the road end to Lochgrove House to its junction with A70 (except vehicles engaged on the Scottish Water works), by reason of works to be executed on or near the road.

The Order shall come into force at 08:00 hrs on 31/01/22 until 17:00 hrs on 27/02/22, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.

It is anticipated at this time that the works will be undertaken in phases. Advance signing will be erected on site to inform the traveling public of the times and dates of each road closure. Every effort will be made to keep the closures to a minimum.

Emergency access and vehicular access for residents/owners/occupiers within the closures will be permitted to and from their properties.

Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure periods.

Alternative Routes: for both road closures will be via A70 to Cumnock, B7083 and C23 Rigg Rd and vice versa.
