(Goatfoot Road, Holmes Road, Nelville Drive and Shield Terrace, Galston) (Temporary Part Time Pedestrian and Cycle Zone) (No 2) Order 2021

 

On 27/07/21 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above-named Order, which will make it unlawful for any persoGootfootn to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle on the following lengths of road in the town of Galston at the times stated below (except permit holders, blue badge holders, and taxis), by reason of likelihood of danger to the public.  These restrictions will make changes to the allocated road space, to promote safe walking and cycling space in the interest of road safety.

Goatfoot Road – its whole extent

Monday to Friday (inclusive)

08:30 – 09:15 and 14:30 - 15:15

Holmes Road – from its junction with Loudoun Avenue to its junction with Nelville Drive

Monday to Friday (inclusive)

08:30 – 09:15 and 14:30 - 15:15

 

Nelville Drive – its whole extent

Monday to Friday (inclusive)

08:30 – 09:15 and14:30 - 15:15

Shield Road – from its junction with Catherine Drive northwards to its junction with Shield Terrace

Monday to Friday (inclusive)

08:30 – 09:15 and 14:30 - 15:15

Shield Terrace – its whole extent

Monday to Friday (inclusive)

08:30 – 09:15 and 14:30 - 15:15

 

Unnamed Access road servicing the rear of dwellings on Nelville Drive and Loudoun Avenue – its whole extent

08:30 – 09:15 and 14:30 - 15:15

 

 

The Order shall come into force at 08:30 hrs on 02/08/21 until 15:15 hrs on 30/12/22, and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.

 

Access for emergency services, bin lorries, carers and doctors will be permitted.  Access for residents is permitted when vehicles are displaying a valid permit.

 

Pedestrian and pedal cycle access will be maintained throughout the closure period.
