East Ayrshire Council (Various Roads, Catrine, Fenwick, Sorn and Stair) (Temporary Road Closures and Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2021 - East Ayrshire Archived

On 08/06/21 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (East Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012, and the Road Traffic Act 1991, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above named Order. This Order will make it unlawful for any vehicles to contravene any of the restrictions on any of the lengths of roads stated below, by reason of facilitating resurfacing (RS), surface dressing (SD) and road marking works to be executed on or near the road. All works are weather dependent.

Road Closures

It is anticipated at this time that the works will be undertaken on or between the following dates but advance signing will be erected on site to inform the traveling public of the times and dates of each road closure. Every effort will be made to keep the closures to a minimum but dates may need to change as works progress. All diversion routes will be signed on site as the closures are implemented.

No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle on the following roads—

B705, Catrine (RS works) from Newton St to Shellies Bridge (daily from 08:00 hrs until 20:00 hrs) from Mon 12/07/21 until Sun 25/07/21 (inclusive);

The following roads will be closed in phases (daily from 07:00 hrs until 21:00 hrs) between Mon 19/07/21 until Sun 01/08/21 (inclusive) (SD works) —

B730 from Stair to Coalhal, B743 from Muirkirk to the boundary with South Lanarkshire, B743 from Nethershield (east of Sorn) to A70 Muirkirk, B778 Fenwick from the A77 to Draffen Mount, Stewarton, B7037 from C76 Lawersbridge at Meikleyard to a point near South Blairkip Farm, Sorn; and

B7061 and B7038, Fenwick (RS works) from a point 300 m southwest of Dalmusternock roundabout north-eastwards for 2 km (daily from 08:00 hrs until 18:00 hrs) between Sat 24/07/21 until Fri 30/07/21 (inclusive).

Access during above road closures—

Emergency access and pedestrian access will be maintained during the closures and through the works site.

Vehicular access for residents/owners/occupiers within the closures will be permitted to and from their properties when it is safe to do so and when directed by a Traffic Marshal.

B713 from Whiteflat Bridge to A76 and access road from B713 to Gordon St, Catrine (deep RS works) from 08:00 hrs on Mon 02/08/21 until 20:00 hrs Sun 08/08/21 (inclusive). Due to the depth of the resurfacing works no access will be permitted through the works site, access will only be permitted to properties within the closure when it is safe to do so and when directed by a Traffic Marshal.

Prohibition of Waiting

No person shall cause or permit any vehicle to wait at any time on either side of the B705, Catrine (RS works) from Newton St to Shellies Bridge from 08:00 hrs on Mon 12/07/21 until 20:00 hrs on Sun 25/07/21 (inclusive).

The Order shall come into force at 08:00 hrs on Mon 12/07/21 until 20:00 hrs on Sun 08/08/21, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.
