On 01/06/21 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the Road Traffic (Permitted Parking Area and Special Parking Area) (East Ayrshire Council) Designation Order 2012, and the Road Traffic Act 1991, as amended, and of all other enabling powers, made the above named Order. This Order will make it unlawful for any vehicles to contravene any of the restrictions on any of the lengths of roads stated below, by reason of facilitating resurfacing, road marking and road safety works to be executed on or near the road. All works are weather dependent.
Road Closures
No person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle, Sunday to Thursday (inclusive) from 19:00 hours to 06:00 hours, from Sun 20/06/21 until Wed 18/08/21 (inclusive), on route B7038 Glasgow Rd or on route B7064 Western Rd, Kilamrnock, as described in the phases below.
Diversion routes will be signed on site as the phased closures are implemented.
The road closures are going to be phased and every effort will be made to keep the phased closures to a minimum but dates may need to change as works progress. Advance signing will be erected on site to inform the traveling public of the times and dates of each phased closure.
It is anticipated at this time that the works will be undertaken in the following phases—
PHASE 1 – Starts at 19:00 hrs on Sun 20/06/21 on Glasgow Rd from the A77 Slip Rd southwards to Southcraig roundabout.
PHASE 2 – Starts at 19:00 hrs on Sun 04/07/21 on Glasgow Rd from Southcraig roundabout southwards to the north side of Western Rd roundabout.
PHASE 3 – Starts at 19:00 hrs on Sun 18/07/21 on Glasgow Rd from the north side of Western Rd roundabout southwards to the south side of its junction with Glasgow Rd eastern service road and Western Rd from the east side of its junction with Lewis Dr eastwards to Glasgow Rd.
Emergency access and pedestrian access will be maintained during the closures and through the works site.
Vehicular access for residents/owners/occupiers within the closures will be permitted to and from their properties when it is safe to do so and when directed by a Traffic Marshal.
Prohibition of Waiting
No person shall drive or cause or permit any vehicle to wait on either side of the roads at any time on route B7038 Glasgow Rd, from the A77 slip road southwards to the south side of its junction with Glasgow Rd eastern service road and B7064 Western Rd from the east side of its junction with Lewis Dr eastwards to Glasgow Rd. The waiting restriction may be implemented in part as works require.
The Order shall come into force at 19:00 hrs on 20/06/21 until 06:00 hrs on 18/08/21, or until the works are completed whichever is earlier and the Order will be implemented only when appropriate signs are displayed.
