On 27/01/14 the Council, in exercise of the powers conferred on them under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, made the above-named Order that continues the restrictions imposed by Notice which expires at 24:00 hrs on 30/01/14. The Notice/Order makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle or for any person to travel (except for vehicles and pedestrians engaged in the bridge works), on Nith Bridge, C36 Boig Road, New Cumnock, (from a point 50m north of Nith Bridge to a point 50m south of Nith Bridge), by reason of works to be executed on or near the road.

This Order is in force from 24:00 hrs on 30/01/14 until 24:00 hrs on 27/03/14, or until the works are complete whichever is earlier.

It is hoped that the bridge will open sooner but it is dependent on low water levels to facilitate the works.

Alternative Route: via B741 to New Cumnock, A76 to Skerrington roundabout and C36 Glaisnock Road to New Cumnock and vice versa.
