DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL
(STRANRAER)
(TEMPORARY VARIOUS SPEED LIMITS)
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER)
ORDER 2023
Notice is hereby given that The Dumfries and Galloway Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
1. The general effect of the Traffic Regulation Order will be to impose a temporary 20mph speed limit on specified lengths of roads within Stranraer not already subject to a 20mph speed restriction and as indicated within the confines indicated by a solid black line and light grey hatching on the plan below and in Schedule A.
2. The general effect of the Traffic Regulation Order will be to impose a temporary 30mph speed limit on specified lengths of roads within Stranraer not already subject to a 30mph speed restriction and as indicated by a solid red line on the plan below and in Schedule B.
3. The temporary speed limits are necessary to alleviate the likelihood of danger to the public caused by the potential conflict and collision between vehicles, pedal cycles and pedestrians on the roads stated by traffic travelling at speeds.
4. The temporary speed limits will be in force within Stranraer from 00.00hrs, 6 October 2023 until 23.59hrs 28 March 2025 (18 months).
