(TOUR OF BRITAIN – CYCLE RACE)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) ORDER 2019

The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to temporarily close various roads in Kirkcudbright between 6/9/19 and 7/9/19. The closures are necessary to facilitate activities associated with the Tour of Britain – Cycle Race. Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained at all times.

The route for the race is from A713 South Ayrshire boundary, B729, B7000, via Castle Douglas, B736, A711 Douganhill, Auchencairn, Dundrennan to the finish on St Mary’s St, Kirkcudbright. Further information can be obtained at www.tourofbritain.co.uk

Various roads within Kirkcudbright are to be closed between 10pm on Friday 6^th September until 7pm on Saturday 7^th September. Access will be maintained for local traffic using A711, A755 Bridge Street, C61s Beaconsfield Place, U307s St Cuthbert’s Street – U303s Castle Street – U300s High Street – A711 and vice versa. All town centre roads are closed during race finish between approx. 2.30pm and 4pm on Saturday 7^th September.

Parking suspensions are necessary to facilitate the event on the following roads between 10pm on Friday 6^th September and 7pm on Saturday 7^th September. A711, B727 St Cuthbert’s St, C61s St Cuthbert’s St, U307s St Cuthbert’s St, U303s Castle St, U300s High St, U302s Castlebank, U305s Union St, U11s Merse Park, U322s Burnside, U316s Millburn St, U321s Gladstone Place.
