The CCWEL project consists of significant road, footway and cycle improvements through the City Centre from Roseburn in the West to Leith Walk in the East. The project will run along key streets including the A8, Roseburn Terrace, West Coates, Haymarket Terrace, Melville Street, George Street and York Place. The project will transform the nature and operation of these streets providing segregated cycle infrastructure on main roads and significant improvements to the pedestrian experience. The Programme is being delivered in a number of phases over several financial years.
The present RSO covers parts of Section 3 of the CCWEL project which run along Queen Street and York Place. Section 3 runs from St Andrews Square to York Place and requires the installation of a segregated, bi-direction cycletrack on the south side of these streets.
