The junction of Dalmahoy Road at its intersection with the A71, Calder Road has a history of road collisions. As such, the Transport and Environment Committee of the Council has approved the installation of traffic signals at this location with a view to improving safety for all users.
The new junction layout associated with the installation of the traffic signals will require the acquisition of third party land from private ownership. In the interim period, until such time as the land is acquired, a scheme involving vehicle activated warning signs was introduced (to help the current collision profile). It is proposed that relevant sections of the road should be redetermined to allow the construction of the new junction.
