The area to the south of East Market Street and to the west of New Street has recently been redeveloped and new buildings are being constructed. The area will accommodate a hotel and housing which will have accesses from East Market Street. At present the footways on East Market Street and New Street are narrow and to accommodate the anticipated increase in pedestrians it is considered that the footways should be extended. It will therefore be necessary to redetermine the carriageway to footway. To assist pedestrians crossing both East Market Street and New Street it is also considered that the footways should be extended on the opposite sides and this will be undertaken by redetermining the carriageway to footway.
