THE ABERDEEN CITY COUNCIL (SOUTH HARBOUR AREA, ABERDEEN) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) ORDER 2024
Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which will come into operation from 00:01 on 12 March 2024, for a period up to eighteen months, is to impose the following traffic management measures on roads in the vicinity of the South Harbour Area, Aberdeen: -
A prohibition on motor vehicles stopping on the: -
Coast Road between its junction with St Fitticks Road and Gregness Railway Bridge.
St Fitticks Road - between a point 231 meters south of its junction with Pentland Crescent and its junction with the Coast Road.
A mandatory 30mph speed limit will be established on the: -
Coast Road between a point 160 metres or thereby south of Gregness Railway Bridge, for clarity this is the bridge numbered 138RX/1, and its junction with St Fitticks Road.
A mandatory 40mph speed limit will be established on the: -
Coast Road between a point 160 metres or thereby south of Gregness Railway Bridge and a point 10 metres or thereby north of the Railway Bridge No.140RX (Grid Reference NJ 961 024)
The unnamed inset road, located off the north side of St Fitticks Road (between its junction with Greyhope Road and the access that serves the South Harbour), will be for the exclusive use of buses and taxis, operating as a one-way, with the permitted classes of vehicle only able to travel in a clockwise direction.
The measures are in the interest of public safety and managing traffic in the vicinity of the South Harbour, Aberdeen.
