Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
The effect of the order, which will operate from 09:00 on Monday, 28 September 2020, until 20:00 on Sunday, 6 December 2020, is to impose the temporary restrictions in the schedule below. The restriction will be carried out in phases, and phases 2 and 3 will not commence until the previous phase has been completed. Phase 1 for approximately two to three weeks; There will be a prohibition of driving on Papermill Drive, Aberdeen, between its junction with Gordons Mills Road and a point 50m in a north-easterly direction. An alternative route is available via Gordons Mills Road, Meadow Lane, Papermill Drive and Papermill Avenue. The one-way system on Meadow Lane, Aberdeen, will be suspended to allow egress from properties. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on Meadow Lane, Aberdeen, between its junctions with Gordons Mills Road and the Papermill Drive. Illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owners expense. Phase 2 for approximately three to five weeks; Prohibition of driving on Gort Road, Aberdeen, from the hammer head at Gordons Mills Road to Montgomery Road. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretch of road. Illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owners expense. An alternative route is available via Gort Road, Gordons Mills Road, Gordons Mills Crescent. Phase 3 for approximately one to two weeks; Prohibition of driving on Montgomery Road, Aberdeen, from Gort Road to the heating plant access road. There will also be a prohibition of waiting on the same stretch of road. Illegally parked vehicles will be removed at the owners expense. An alternative route is available via Auchinleck Road and Gordons Mills Crescent. The measures are necessary to protect public safety during sewer connection works.
