Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Certain lengths of permit parking bays will be extended on the following roads (each length specified is inclusive of the existing length of bay): - Catherine Street: North side, from a point 26 metres or thereby east of its junction with George Street, eastwards for a distance of 55 metres or thereby; Gerrard Street: South side, from a point 123 metres or thereby east of its junction with George Street, eastwards for a distance of 50 metres or thereby; South side, from a point 195 metres or thereby east of its junction with George Street, eastwards for a distance of 35 metres or thereby; and Maberly Street: North side, from a point 77 metres or thereby east of its junction with Ann Street, eastwards for a distance of 66 metres or thereby.

A certain length of pay & display / permit parking bay will be extended on Maberly Street (the length specified is inclusive of the existing length of bay): North side, from a point 8 metres or thereby east of its junction with Ann Street, eastwards for a distance of 37 metres or thereby.

Certain lengths of existing prohibition of waiting at any time will be revoked: - Catherine Street: North side, from a point 73 metres or thereby east of its junction with George Street, eastwards for a distance of 10 metres or thereby; Gerrard Street: South side, from a point 123 metres or thereby east of its junction with George Street, eastwards for a distance of 6 metres or thereby; South side, from a point 196 metres or thereby east of its junction with George Street, eastwards for a distance of 8 metres or thereby; Maberly Street: North side, from a point 9 metres or thereby east of its junction with Ann Street, eastwards for a distance of 6 metres or thereby; North side, from a point 77 metres or thereby east of its junction with Ann Street, eastwards for a distance of 6 metres or thereby; North side, from a point 102 metres or thereby east of its junction with Ann Street, eastwards for a distance of 42 metres or thereby;

These measures are necessary for public safety, whereby, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, additional space is being established on roads to allow for social / physical distancing and active travel.
