Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order, which will come into operation from 00:01 on 13 July 2020, until 23:59 on 12 January 2022, is to impose the following traffic management measures on certain roads in Aberdeen: A 20mph speed limit will be established on Ann Street, Berry Street, Blackfriars Street, Candlemakers Lane, Catherine Street, Charlotte Gardens, Charlotte Place, Charlotte Street, Craigie Street, Gallowgate, George Street (between its junctions with Hutcheon Street and Loch Street), Gerrard Street, John Street, Jopps Lane, Kingsland Place, Loch Street, Maberly Street, Seamount Road, Spring Garden, St Andrew Street and St Paul Street. One-way restrictions On Maberly Street vehicles will only be permitted to travel in an easterly direction, while on George Street, between its junctions with Maberly Street and St Andrew Street, vehicles will only be permitted to travel in a southerly direction, with the exception the aforementioned will not apply to pedal cycles. On St Andrew Street, between its junctions with George Street and Charlotte Street, vehicles will only be permitted to travel in a westerly direction, except this will not apply to buses and pedal cycles. Certain lengths of prohibition of vehicles waiting at any time will be established on George Street: West side, from its junction with Hutcheon Street, southwards to a point 12 metres or thereby north of its junction with Maberly Street; West side, from a point 13 metres or thereby south of its junction with Craigie Street, southwards for a distance of 66 metres or thereby; East side, from a point 14 metres south of its junction with Catherine Street, southwards for a distance of 28 metres or thereby; East side, from a point 13 metres or thereby north of its junction with Gerrard Street, northwards for a distance of 17 metres or thereby; East side, from a point 17 metres or thereby north of its junction with John Street, northwards for a distance of 19 metres or thereby.
