Aberdeen City Council has made the above-named order in terms of its powers under Section 62(1) of the Roads Scotland Act 1984
The effect of the first order, which will operate on Sunday, 9 June 2019, (see below), is to close Esplanade, Links Road and Accommodation Road as outlined in Schedule One.
The second order provides for other temporary traffic management arrangements in association with the closures which are being introduced to ensure public safety during the Cancer Research UK Womens 5km Charity Fun Run/Walk (Race for Life) event. From 06:00 until 14:30 on Sunday 9 June 2019, there will be a prohibition of waiting at any time on both sides of the Esplanade between Links Road and King Street, and the whole length of Accommodation Road. Also, from 06:00 to 14:00 on Sunday 9 June 2019, the bus only restriction on the southbound carriageway of the A956, King Street, Aberdeen will be suspended through the bus gate at the Esplanade junction to allow access for all vehicles.
