(LINTBURN STREET, GALASHIELS)

(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2017

The Scottish Borders Council have made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended. The Order, which has a maximum duration of 18 months, will come into force on 1 May 2017 and is expected to remain in effect until 25 August 2017 – 24 hour restriction..  The Order is required to permit construction of flats on the corner of Stanley Street and Lintburn Street, Galashiels.

When the Order comes into effect:

(a)   a One Way Order will be in force in a south easterly direction along Lintburn Street, Galashiels, from Victoria Street to Stanley Street - no person shall drive or cause or permit to be driven any vehicle in a south westerly direction;

The alternative routes for north westbound traffic are as follows:

1. when approaching from Stanley Street – via Lintburn Street, Gala Park and Victoria Street to the point of the one way restriction

   (ii)   when approaching from Lintburn Street – via Stanley Street, Thistle Street and Victoria Street to the point of the one way restriction;

   (b)  no person shall permit any vehicle to wait or to be parked along both sides of the following lengths of road in Galashiels:

          (i)    Lintburn Street from Victoria Street to Stanley Street; and

          (ii)   Stanley Street from its junction with Lintburn Street southwest for a distance of 30 metres.
