On 24 July 2017 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on replacement of a medium pressure gas main) on the undernoted roads by reason of works being executed on or near those locations.

The Off-Slip Road from its junction with the northbound carriageway of the A8011 Glasgow Road to its junction with Seafar Roundabout
Alternative routes: Vehicles travelling northwards on A8011 Glasgow Road wishing to travel to Seafar Roundabout should proceed north eastwards on A8011 Glasgow Road and A8011 Central Way, around Town Centre West Roundabout, exit and proceed south westwards on A8011 Central Way then take the Off-Slip Road to Seafar Roundabout.

The On-Slip Road from its junction with Seafar Roundabout to its junction with the southbound carriageway of the A8011 Glasgow Road
Alternative routes: Vehicles on Seafar Roundabout wishing to travel to the southbound carriageway of the A8011 Glasgow Road should proceed around Seafar Roundabout, exit and proceed north eastwards on A8011 Central Way, proceed around Town Centre West Roundabout, exit and proceed south westwards on A8011 Central Way.
Slip Road 3
Across the junction between A8011 Central Way and the Off-Slip Road from B8039 Jane’s Brae.
Alternative routes: Vehicles travelling southwards on A8011 Central Way wishing to travel to Seafar Roundabout should proceed onto the Off-Slip Road, south eastwards on B8039 Jane’s Brae, around Lenziemill East Roundabout then Lenziemill West Roundabout, exit and proceed north westwards on B3039 Jane’s Brae then take the On-Slip Road to Seafar Roundabout.
Slip Road 4
The On-Slip Road from its junction with B3039 Jane’s Brae to its junction with the southbound carriageway of the A8011 Glasgow Road.
Alternative routes: Vehicles travelling northwards on B8039 Jane’s Brae wishing to travel to the southbound carriageway of A8011 Glasgow Road should proceed westwards onto the slip road, north eastwards on A8011 Central Way, proceed around Town Centre West Roundabout then south westwards on A8011 Central Way to the southbound carriageway of A8011 Glasgow Road.
As part of the proposals a 30 MPH Speed Restriction will also be in place on A8011 Glasgow Road from the outer inscribed circle of Town Centre West Roundabout south westwards for a distance of 1.3 km or thereby.
The Order, which will only be operational when displayed by signs, will come into operation at 0001 hours on Sunday, 13 August 2017 and will remain in operation until 0000 hours on Sunday, 5 November 2017.
