On 30 January 2017 the North Lanarkshire Council made the above-named Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by Schedule 1 of the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, and in exercise of all other enabling powers, which makes it unlawful for any person to drive or cause or permit to be driven any motor vehicle (with the exception of vehicles engaged on rail bridge repair works) on Forest Road, Cumbernauld from a point 337 metres or thereby east of the extended line of the southern kerb of Dunnswood Road, eastwards for a distance of 554 metres or thereby, by reason of works being executed on or near that location.                                                                                                                      

Alternative routes: Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing to travel to the west side of the closure should proceed south eastwards then south westwards on Forest Road and Lenziemill Road, north westwards on B8039 Janes Brae, north eastwards on A8011 Central Way, A8011 Wilderness Brae and B816 Castelcary Road then south eastwards Forest Road to the west side of the closure.

Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing to travel to the east side of the closure should proceed vice versa.

The works will be carried out in two phases, with the road only being closed in one direction at a time.

The Order will come into operation at 0001 hours on Monday, 13 February 2017 and will remain in operation until 2359 hours on Friday, 31 March 2017.
